When I was little, my favorite food in the WHOLE world was taco bell. I used to indulge on so many cheese and bread products as they tasted so good.


I was accustomed to eating loads of junk food every single day, eating an unhealthy snack became a norm to me. Although eating this food was super fun, it took a toll on my healthy.


This caused me to be 200 POUNDS at only AGE 15!!


Many people love eating junk food, but they try to avoid it because they are on a diet. The most important think about a diet is to make sure it is sustainable, which is why you should take any step towards doing so.


Remember an unhealthy snack can be the habit changer between someone who is fit and someone who suffers from obesity. I used to


Over the years, food brands have made a LOT of foods that mimic junk food, but are actually healthy in reality.


Today, I am going to be listing the top 5 junk food alternatives to your favorite junk food options! If you like these foods then I highly recommend that you get these food items to make the diet easier and more fun!


 

Healthy Food vs Unhealthy Food

There are many things that can differentiate what is healthy, and what isn't. The main things however occur in the nutrients of the food.


If a food contains a lot of unhealthy fats such as trans fat and saturated fat, then this means that the food is pretty unhealthy as these fats are what is going to clog your blood streams.


Also, if a food has a high sugar content (usually found in sweet foods), then that is also an indicator that the food isn't the best thing to eat.


There are loads of other things that indicate whether foods are unhealthy or not, but fats and sugars tend to be the main deciders.


Make sure you eat as many non-processed foods as possible, you want to eat whole foods that will give you great energy, not fatty and sugary foods that will just make you fatigued instead.

The only issue is, they are fried in LOTS of oil and are covered in loads of sodium. This makes potato chips an unhealthy snack. Diet chips are just like potato chips, these are snacking chips that taste similar to potato chips and are delicious. However they are a healthy snack.


They are usually baked instead of fried and often contain little amounts of sodium added in each bag, instead these chips include loads of other spices to make the taste much better.

2. Frozen Yogurt (Ice Cream Alternative)


Ice cream, the most popular desert item, the thing we always begged our parents for when we were kids. It was one of the BEST foods that we have ever had.


Nowadays, even after growing up, we still enjoy ice cream as a fun desert. However, it is hard to stick to a diet when indulging on ice cream.


This leads to 2 outcomes, either you don't eat ice cream, or you fail your diet.


NOTE: Even if you are dieting, it is okay to eat a little junk food every once in a while, as long is it's in moderation and it's not often.

3. Fruity Sparkling Water (Soda/Pop Alternative)


Pop/Soda is one of the most delicious drinks ever. We love having it with our burgers, pizzas and loads of other foods!


It's genuinely one of the best things to drink, when eating a heavy meal.


The only issue with Pop/Soda is that it is FILLED WITH SUGAR, in just a single CAN of pop you can find up to 30-40 GRAMS of sugar.


Fruity Sparkling Water is a great alternative to Pop/Soda, this is because it has MUCH less the amounts of sugars AND calories. Although it is not as sweet, you still get a little sweetness as well as the fruity and bubbly taste in your mouth!

5. Protein Cereal (Sugary Cereal Alternative)


Everyone has had a taste of sugary cereals, they were staple breakfast foods when we were all young. A lot of adults still do eat cereal today, but it is hard to fit in sugary cereals when we are on a diet.


This is where protein cereal comes in, protein cereal is cereal that is MUCH HIGH IN PROTEIN than regular cereals and also high in nutrients. The great thing is, protein cereals have about 50% less sugar than sugary cereals.


Although they have less sugar, they still do have a bit of sugar in them, so make sure that if you have protein cereal, reduce your sugar intake for the rest of the day.


Protein cereal is currently my favorite breakfast food as it is SUPER delicious and it has a LOT of protein in comparison to other cereals.
